CANACONA
After a spike in cases during the third Covid wave, the number of active cases have begun to decline and are now below 50 in Canacona taluka.
During the third Covid wave, cases had been reported in the municipality and all seven villages in the taluka and at one time, there were as many as 139 cases a day.
The cases have, however, began to decline in the last few days and have now dropped to merely three new cases on Tuesday.
With 14 recoveries on Tuesday, the active Covid cases are now 47 in the taluka.
So far, 5,032 people have been affected in the villages of Khola, Agonda, Shrishthal Gaondongrim, Khotigao, Poinguinim and Loliem-Polem, as well as in Canacona municipality.
