Stating that the Covid situation has gone out of hand in the State due to mismanagement of the BJP-led government, Nationalist Congress Party State Vice President Avinash Bhosle said people were so scared of the infection that they were afraid to approach the Goa Medical College or the health centres for testing and treatment.
“The government received crores of rupees from the Centre to tackle Covid treatment in the State but the government refuses to divulge records on how the monies have been spent. In the name of quarantine, the government has extorted money from the public,” said Bhosle.
The NCP state vice president was addressing a large group of people who joined the party along with a BJP karyakarta and former booth in charge from Khorlim, Mapusa. NCP General Secretary Sanjay Barde and other members were also present on the occasion.
Continuing, Bhosle said the BJP-led governments in Goa and the Centre were flexing muscles and suppressing the poor. He said it was starkly evident during the lockdown when thousands of migrants were forced to travel to their home state on foot in severe conditions.
NCP State General Secretary Sanjay Barde said the State government was working against the Bahujan Samaj and was suppressing their voices.
“We will work for the poorest of the poor against the government’s ill-conceived policies and will always point out the faults of the government,” Barde said.
On the occasion, a BJP karyakarta and former election booth incharge from Khorlim, Mapusa, Sayeed Gosipar along with a large number of his supporters joined the Nationalist Congress Party.
“I have been a BJP karyakarta for the last 15 years. BJP has used us only for elections. They accept Goans only during the elections but a migrant during the rest of the time,” Gosipar said.
He said he will now use the NCP platform to work for the people and fight against injustice.
