With cases increasing by the day, the South Goa Advocates Association has resolved to approach the Administrative Judge of the High Court and the Principal Judge of the South Goa Sessions Court with a plea to urgently intervene and issue SOPs for the functioning of the courts.

In a letter addressed to the Principal Judge of the Session Court, acting SGAA President Winston Mascarenhas has suggested to restrict the court hearings to only urgent and or old matters and or matters taken up with consent of both the parties.

It has been further suggested that the daily board should be restricted to 10 cases in each session, in addition to matters posted only for passing of orders/ judgements.

While calling for the restriction of entry of litigants in the courts, the SGAA also suggested that matters with consent of the parties be conducted through video conferences and or through appointment of Court Commissioners.
