Covid vaccination drive in South Goa from tomorrow

The Health Department will conduct a Covid-19 vaccination drive in all the talukas of South Goa for Front Line Workers (FLWs) on February 26 and 27.

The vaccination for Salcete will be held on the first floor of the New District Hospital, Margao Vaccination centre No 1. In Mormugao, it will be at Sub District Hospital, Chichalim Vaccination centre No 1. At Ponda, it will be at Rajiv Kala Mandir, Ponda. In the taluka of Quepem, the drive will be held at PHC, Quepem. At Canacona, CHC Canacona will be the session site. In Dharbandora,it will be held at  PHC, Pillem while in Sanguem at Municipal Hall, Sanguem

All the FLWs who are registered on Co-WIN portal are advised to visit any vaccination booth as per their convenience on February 26 and 27 along with an identity proof between 9 am and 5 pm.

One dead; Goa toll 789

A 59 year-old woman from St Inez succumbed to Covid-19 at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim on Wednesday taking the total victim count to 789.

The Health Department detected 52 new cases of the infection from among 1,659 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed cases have now touched 54,700 of which 495 are presently active while 53,416 have recovered.
