Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the Independence Day function in Panaji, Parsekar said, “I will give the task of conducting preliminary inquiry to the Chief Secretary. I know he does not have the machinery to conduct inquiry, I will ask him to give me the report in one or two days.”
A Vasco-based businessman Munnalal Halwai had accused IGP Sunil Garg of accepting bribe of Rs 5.5 lakh from him for issuing directions to Ponda Police to register a complaint of cheating.
Meanwhile, speaking to media persons, Chief Secretary R K Shrivastav said, “The allegation is serious. But simply allegation does not mean that the charge is proved. So, we have to inquire and give the report.”
