The first meeting of the Cuncolim Municipal Council kicked up another row of sorts after Chairperson Laximan Naik said he would bar social activist Ronny Dias from attending Council meetings.
Ronny, however, has dared Laximan to ban him, demanding to know the provision empowering the Chairperson to bar his entry into the Council.
Laximan’s decision comes following a letter written by Ronny to the CMC councillors stating that the decision to accept money from Yuri Alemao to take up the repair work on the FF memorial was a blunder. Ronny said nothing stops him from attending the Council meetings and the Chairperson should not act in a dictatorial manner. “Let him show the provision under which he can bar people from entering his office or attend the meetings,” Ronny asserted.
