Curchorem school's eco-friendly float
PANAJI: Sarvodaya Educational Society' High School, Curchorem, under the leadership of teacher Maria Estela Fernandes, along with the staff put up a tableau on waste management which focused on the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Estela is also the co-ordinator for The Energy Resource Institute (TERI) and is instrumental in setting up the eco-club in her school. The school has also been given a paper recycling machine by TERI. The concept of having a tableau on environment issues was taken up by the Ravindra Bhavan Curchorem which assisted them.
The Art teacher of the school, Amir Devali also assisted. The tableau did not use any thermocol and plastic. A special song was composed on environment and messages were delivered in different languages as also a dance with brooms and dustpans as props. The tableau moved in the streets of Margao and Curchorem.
