Cansaulim Villagers Action Committee (CVAC) organised a Carnival parade at T.B.Cunha sports complex at Cansaulim on Monday.
King Momo of Cansaulim, Olencio Simoes, in his message said that people must not forget their moral responsibility to stand against every social, cultural and environmental evil in villages and Goa at large.
“We have to rise irrespective of caste, religion and political affiliations to protect and conserve our beautiful Goa. Social evils like drugs, prostitution, environmental degradation, CRZ dilution, nationalization of rivers, coal hub, Regional Plan 2021 and many other issues threaten our identity. We must stand strong and fight against such disastrous plans and projects,” he
added. The parade saw a large number of people from the village in attendance as they tapped their feet to the various musical songs that were being played during the carnival
parade.
