Dabolim airport circle wears deserted look as IFFI gathers glam in Goa

VASCO: While the 49th International Film Festival of India may have opened to a glamorous start in the capital city amidst performances and visit of India’s Bollywood superstars, the Dabolim International airport circle at Dabolim wore a deserted look.

While celebrities like Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar arrived in the State and landed at Dabolim international airport on Tuesday, there was not even a single signboard or decoration of any sorts that could indicate that the celebrities had arrived into Goa for the inaugural of IFFI.

The IFFI organisers have left no stone unturned to beautify areas in Panaji with signboards, decorations and sculptures to depict the IFFI celebrations, but they seem to have forgotten to beautify the main entry and exit points of various film stars that arrive into Goa for the IFFI. “This is so sad and strange that the organisers have forgotten Dabolim Airport circle. There used to be so much decorations at various locations in Goa during IFFI earlier,” said an airport employee on condition of anonymity.

Way back in 2004, I remember that the entire Dabolim Airport circle and Cortalim circle were beautified and decorated. All VVIPs arrive and leave Goa from Dabolim International Airport and as such the organisers should have had some decorations depicting IFFI screenings in Goa,” he said.
