The Davorlim gram sabha on Sunday discussed the illegal constructions on Comunidade land with members demanding action against the illegal structures.
At the gram sabha meeting chaired by Sarpanch Santosh Naik, gram sabha members demanded to know the action initiated by the panchayat against the illegal construction comunidade land. They demanded to know from the Chair whether the panchayat had written a letter to the Comunidade president to attend the gram sabha. The Sarpanch replied in the positive, but said the Comunidade president is not present for the meeting.
The members also raised the issue of the comunidade plots allotted to government officials in the past, but were not occupied by the allottees within a specified time frame. The members demanded that all such plots should be taken back and distributed to the villagers belonging to the scheduled tribes.
