Day after being named as beneficiaries of RP21, denials come thick and fast

PANDURANG MADKAIKAR: My property at Gaundalim  was converted to settlement under the RP 2001 plan and not  under RP 2021 plan. I have in no way benefitted from any conversion that is being claimed by Goencho Avaaz.

LUIZINHO FALEIRO: The Zug island at Cavelossim was always shown as settlement area in the RP since 2001. In RP 2021,  a part of the area has been shown as green. Though there were six  houses on the island in the past, only a lone house is now  left there. Either the activists have misunderstood or they have  tried to misguide. Their claim is highly defamatory.

DEEPAK DHAVALIKAR: I had applied for conversion when RP 2021 was kept open. They  approved my request. But it was not given properly. It is not a forest  land. Let them prove it. I challenge those who tried to expose me. I am  in the process of filing a defamation case against them.

GLEN TICLO: As a citizen, I had made an application to change a piece of land  from orchard to settlement on January 14, 2016. But till today, the  zoning of the land concerned has not been changed. How can anyone claim  that I am a beneficiary of the RP2021.

DIGAMBAR KAMAT: I have arranged a field trip for the media in Agonda-Canacona where the activists claimed agricultural property admeasuring 2275 square meters is shown as settlement. The property in question is still green. Let the media see for themselves the ground reality.

WILFRED D’SA: I am ready to quit office if the charges are proved that my land is shown as settlement. The property in question is an ancestral  land. When RP 2021 was being formulated in 2009, I was not even an  MLA. Even if some persons had tried to get their land shown as  settlement, members of the VLC, who are now associated with Goencho  Avaaz should have ensured that the properties remained as green.
