Deepesh elected sarpanch of Navelim VP

BICHOLIM
Adv Deepesh Gawas was unanimously elected as sarpanch of Navelim Panchayat in Bicholim taluka.   The sarpanch’s post had fallen vacant after former sarpanch Khushali Naik resigned.   The election meeting was attended by outgoing sarpanch Khushali Naik, deputy sarpanch Swati Mainkar, Panchas Gopinath Gawas, Deepak Naik, Suman Gawas, Adv Deepesh Gawas and Karuna Mahale in the seven-member panchayat.   
As only one nomination was received from Adv Gawas, presiding officer Fattusingh Shetgaonkar from Bicholim BDO declared him elected unopposed. Panchayat secretary Tukaram Naik assisted. Later, Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant congratulated the newly elected sarpanch.
