Curtorim Independent MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has said the decision by the eight MLAs to quit and join the BJP is a tight slap on the faces of the Congress leaders criticizing his decision to leave the party and contest as an independent in 2022.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a programme at Curtorim on Wednesday, Reignaldo said his stand of quitting the Congress and contesting as an Independent has been vindicated on Wednesday after the eight Congress MLAs quit the party.
He said Congress had never supported him though he was the party’s lone voice in the Assembly and outside over the years. “I have been in the opposition for two terms, but I had taken up public issues to the best of my ability though the party had never supported me,” he said.
