Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho has said Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has assured to resolve the Navy NOC issue regarding constructions around Dabolim airport.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Dabolim ground on Sunday evening, Godinho said he had recently met the union defence minister on his visit to Goa. "We had a great and fruitful discussion on the Naval NOC issue and he has also given us an assurance to solve the issues. These central government matters cannot be fruitful in a single meeting and he has asked me to meet him again along with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, where we will solve the issue once and for all, especially with the new court judgement," said Godinho.
Commenting on the recent IPB meeting, Godinho said the government had cleared 11 projects and is also pursuing action-taken reports of some projects, after which they will also be cleared.
“We have even simplified the process for transfer of plots. Around 40 percent of land in industrial estates has not been put to proper use and cannot be transferred or sold.”
“This new policy will help transfer of plots from the old to new owner and new activities will start, thereby bringing in new activity and generating new industries, economic activity and more employment as well," said Godinho.
The minister said the Dabolim ground was taken up under ZP funds. "This Dabolim ground, which was a long-pending demand, will have space for games and also a walking track. Work on the Bogmalo ground is also being taken up in association with FC Goa," said Godinho.
Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav, Sancoale ZP Anita Thorat and others were also present on the occasion.
