After the rush for home isolation kits witnessed at the beginning of the month, request for medicines and home isolation kits have come down at the Margao Urban Health centre.
The last two days saw a huge drop of people visiting the Health centre to lay their hands on the home isolation kits or the Covid medicines. Officials claimed this is a huge departure from the great rush of people, who had visited the centre for the kits and medicines just a few days ago.
Statistics dished out by the Margao Urban Health centre has revealed that only 75 persons visited the health centre for the home isolation kits on Tuesday. And, the figure dropped to 58 on Wednesday, with officials saying the demand for home isolation kits have come down in the last three days.
The Margao Urban health centre had witnessed a rush of COVID positive patients earlier this month with the hope of collecting their home isolation kits. Margao Urban Health officer Dr Anju Kharangate informed that the requests for home isolation kits have come drastically over the last three days.
“The Margao Urban Health centre has enough home isolation kits at this disposal for the moment. We are catering to the requirements of the COVID positive patients”, Dr Anju stated.

Not many elders for
vaccine in Margao
MARGAO: Strange it may seem but true, that the number of senior citizens visiting the Margao Health centre for vaccination has come down in the last few days.
The absence of senior citizens for the COVID vaccination have baffled the officials of the Urban Health centre since people above the age of 60 years, formed a major group of persons visiting the centre since vaccination had started over a month ago.
Officials pointed out that the change in schedule for the second dose may have also contributed to the decline in the elderly visiting the health centre.
Presently, the Margao Urban Health centre plays host to the frontline workers, who come in groups to receive the COVID jab.
While the number of persons above 45 years of age visiting the Health centre for vaccination has come down, persons above 19-years of age, keep their date with the health centre for inoculation.
