Health authorities have been on alert after 30 cases were reported in three villages of Sattari.
The three panchayats have also stepped-up surveillance in light of these dengue cases.
According to reports, 30 cases of dengue were recorded and the patients are from Koparde-Mauxi (11), Satode-Nagargao (11) and Bhironda (8).
Health department sources said the first patient was found in Dhangarwada area of Koparde and a total of 11 patients were traced after a survey in the area. Health authorities have begun fumigating the affected areas.
The Mauxi Panchayat and health officials will jointly inspect the affected areas on Friday morning and will decide on the measures to be taken to tackle the spread of dengue.
“Following a surge in dengue cases before the monsoon, the health department will step up awareness programmes in the taluka,” a source said.
Meanwhile, there has been alarm among residents in Koparde and Satode, after 11 dengue cases each were detected in the two places.
Sources said accumulation of water by households has increased in recent times and it could be a reason for the dengue cases in the taluka.
