Desecrations: Canacona citizens to stage rally

the goan I network rCANACONArrAccording to convenor Diogo Da Silva, residents cutting across religious lines have strongly voiced apprehensions of unabated incidents of desecration of religious idols and structures in the State. r“In order to create an awareness and a feeling of protection and safety across all faiths, we, the citizens of Canacona, have decided to stage a rally from KTC bus stand to the deputy collector’s office on Friday evening,” Da Silva told mediapersons. r“People are largely feeling insecure and alarmed owing to these desecrations of religious places, which began with holy crosses and then extended to gumtis and idols of Hindu faith, and now even the graves of the dead are not spared,” said Da Silva.
