Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao launched several works, including the desilting of the Savorcotto and Bhuisa nallahs.

Alemao said the work will reduce the risk of flooding in fields along the river banks. “The desilting of Savorcotto and Veroda nallah has been taken up after nearly 15 years. The river banks saw inundation during the last monsoon, and this will bring relief to locals,” he said.

He also launched works on K.T. gates at Naaya band, Payra band, Naiguilo band and Bhuisa band, besides the improvement of the nallah with RCC walls at Demani near the Shah Soda factory and behind the Urdu school.

Alemao said many projects were carried out with people’s participation over the past four years, helping speed up decisions. He added that Congress respects public sentiment and does not impose projects on people.

CMC Chairperson Landry Mascarenhas and others were present.
