The monsoon may have arrived in all its fury over this week, but the rains are yet to wipe out the deficit this year, sources at the Met office at Altinho said.
The highest rainfall was reported at Ela-Old Goa and in the capital Panaji with 15 centimeters and 14 centimeters of rainfall recorded in the two localities over the last 24 hours.
Goa’s southernmost taluka of Canacona received 13 cms of rain while Pernem, Mapusa, Sanquelim & Margao got 11 cma each.
Valpoi, Dabolim, Mormugao & Sanguem got 10 cms while Quepem and Ponda got eight cms each.

Torrential rain continued to lash the State for the last 24 hours throwing normal life out of gear. There were reports of several trees being uprooted and damaging vehicles, houses, electric poles and even blocking roads across the State.
In Taliegao, a huge tree collapsed on three cars at Shankarwadi, causing a loss of around Rs 10 lakh to the owners.
