Deviya seeks 50% private-sector jobs for Goans

MAPUSA

Poriem MLA Deviya Rane called for a time-bound industrial policy mandating 50 per cent employment for qualified Goans in private industries. Raising the issue in the Assembly, she said local youth, particularly in Sattari, faced limited opportunities despite industries benefiting from State land, power, water and infrastructure.

She urged transparent recruitment with preference to qualified locals. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured the House he would personally speak to companies.
