Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday issued a statement following the Covid-19 Expert Committee Meeting chaired by him along with Goa’s new Health Secretary Amit Satija.
Offering an insight into the discussions held at the meeting, Rane stated, “During the meeting we discussed certain health and treatment protocols. Digitizing health records has brought a paradigm shift in patient monitoring. It has helped us in early intervention and preventing the possibility of a cytokine storm.”
It was revealed that health officers of the Directorate of Health Services are closely monitoring all home isolating patients. “2,500 calls are being made daily to gather patients’ records and health data," he stated.
Rane also sought to assert that the newly launched home isolation kit is a “game-changer” and that the use of Ivermectin and Doxycycline for prophylaxis is bound to give Goa an edge over the other states in treating Covid-19 patients.
