The Directorate of Education on Friday issued a circular asking schools not to insist on uniforms for students. Schools are set to start classes for std I to std XII from Monday, February 21.
With a few months remaining for the academic year to end, concerns were raised about modalities related to uniforms, books etc by students, parents as well as teachers.
The circular also called upon schools to ensure that exams are conducted in offline mode only. In addition, the circular also specifies that timing concession if required may be given to the students for initial days.
After a pandemic-induced break of almost two years, it is finally back to the classrooms for thousands of secondary and higher secondary school students.
Some schools, however, have already begun conducting classes in the physical mode for some batches of students from Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Goa University also issued a circular on Friday to all its departments and colleges affiliated to it, announcing the resumption of classes in offline mode for all programmes from February 21.
“Consequently, all teaching-learning activities including theory classes/ practical/assessments/examinations shall be conducted in offline mode by following all SOP’s and Covid-appropriate behaviour as well as guidelines/instructions/directions/ advisories issued by the Central/State Government from time to time,” states the circular issued by Registrar V S Nadkarni.
