Chief Minister Pramod Sawant reiterated that the double-tracking of railways would be a game changer for trade and that it was not exclusively for coal transportation.
"I have been repeatedly clarifying that the doubling of tracks proposed by South Western Railways (SWR) is not only meant for coal. It is also for the benefit of trade and movement of passengers, besides boosting tourism since we have so many tourists arriving in Goa by trains as well.”
“As of now, though coal is being transported through trains, we are already working on ways to reduce the quantity and how best we can use technology to reduce pollution of the reduced quantity.”
“The double-tracking will definitely benefit trade and industries with improvised railway network and it will be a game-changer for trade in Goa," said Sawant.
