Duler local held for theft
MAPUSA: Mapusa Police arrested a man from Duler-Mapusa on charges of stealing a speaker, tyre and other items, worth about Rs 30,000, from a parked car at Mapusa bus stand.
The complainant, Suleman Patavegar of Khorlim, had parked his car near a construction site at Mapusa bus stand on Wednesday, police informed.
At about 6.30 pm, the accused, Chandan Adelkar, a resident of Duler forced his entry into the car and ran away with a speaker, tyre and a spoiler from the car, all worth about Rs 30,000.
Mapusa Police managed to track the accused on clues given by some bystanders.
The accused was arrested for theft under Section 379 IPC and remanded to five days police custody.
Mapusa Police is investigating the case.
