Earth hour celebrated at Big FootPANAJI: Earth Hour is a 60-minute period dedicated to our planet, during which we are requested to not use electricity, switch off from electronic networking and celebrate the Earth for her rich resources.
At Ancestral Goa, the Big Foot in Loutolim, a temporary sculpture was erected with the symbols of the elements of nature and was lit with candles. Musicians performed Goan folk songs using string instruments followed by an open discussion about the harmful effects of carbon emissions and steps to be taken to reduce this. The participants then took a pledge to protect Mother Earth.
