A 75-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a fire incident at Khorlim, Mapusa succumbed to her burn injuries while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital on Friday.
On November 9 a fire broke out in a room which was given on rent to run an anganwadi.
The Korgoankar family who had given the room for the anganwadi noticed the fire and reported the matter to the Mapusa fire station.
However, the elderly woman sustained injuries in the fire incident.
She was then rushed her to the North Goa District Hospital and later shifted to the GMC for further treatment. Postmortem is likely to be conducted on Saturday.
Mapusa police is investigating further.
