Firming up the government’s stance further, Health Minister Vishwaji Rane has asked the aggrieved to write e-mails to Secretary Health and Director Health if private hospitals refuse admission to Covid patients
The Health Minister has asked citizens to send an email to Director Health Services ([email protected]) or Secretary Health ([email protected] ) to initiate action against the hospitals.
The Government has instructed all private hospitals to admit patients with not only mild and moderate cases, but also take up critical patients, he added.
Citizens are demanding that helpline numbers be released by the department for receiving such grievances for the benefit of those who do not have access to technology.
Incidentally, Goa government has appointed officers in 21 private hospitals in the state to oversee the patient admission process to ensure that 50 per cent of the beds are allocated to Covid patients.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army on Tuesday delivered 100 bullnose fittings used for oxygen cylinders at the Goa Medical College and Hospital.
A bullnose fitting with its threaded valve connection is primarily fitted to large medical oxygen cylinders used to provide oxygen therapy to Covid patients.
The Health Minister thanked the Indian Army and Colonel Sumit Kumar for personally delivering the 100 bullnose fittings to GMC.
