Employment to non-Goans in Postal dept raises concerns

MARGAO
The Goa Forward party has slammed the double engine BJP government for failing to protect the interest of Goan unemployed youth.

Citing the case of employment given to 71 Maharashtrians in the Goa postal department, the Party General Secretary Prashant Naik has questioned the BJP for occupying the seat in the Union cabinet and still failing to protect the interest of Goans.

In his statement, Prashant recalled that the Goa Forward president and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai had raised the issue of employment in Postal department in the last Assembly session where the government had categorically stated that the issue will be looked into.

As per the answer given in the Lok Sabha to a question raised by South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes, the Minister for Posts has said that all those employed have mandatory knowledge of Konkani and Marathi language.
