Ponda MLA Lavu Mamledar has appealed to parents to encourage their children to play sports, which promotes good health.
He recently laid the foundation stone to construct badminton court and joggers park at Krishna Vihar, Curti-Ponda. The work is estimated to cost Rs 25 lakh.
Emphasizing on sports activities, Mamledar said he is committed to provide better facilities to the people of Ponda constituency. “Sport helps to promote good health. Hence, there was a need to construct a badminton court in this area to encourage youth from this locality,” Mamledar added.
“We should encourage children to play sports. This will not only keep their health good, but will also help them to engage themselves in good activities,” Mamledar opined.
“We should find some time from our busy schedule to do some exercises to keep our health fit and fine,” he added.
On the occasion, Mamledar also launched the work of constructing retaining wall in the area.
“Constructing the retaining wall was very important. Hence, the work is taken up on priority,” he said.
Noted businessman Shyam Mahanandu Naik, Sarita Parab, Santosh Kolhapurkar, PWD assistant engineer Devendra Velingkar, PWD junior engineer Datta Naik, MG Party block president Anil Naik, Gaurav Kudchadkar, Sudesh Narvekar and others were present on the occasion.
Anil Naik welcomed the gathering and also proposed the vote of thanks.
