An agency, M/s Karbens Infortech Private Limited, is developing the app for the State government free of cost. It is expected to be ready by January 26, 2016.
Speaking to The Goan, N D Agrawal, Chairman of the ‘committee on simplification of procedures for effective delivery of services’, said, “The government has already given its approval, and we have already held a meeting with the agency which is developing the app. We have asked them to develop the app by January 26 if possible. If not, it will be done latest by the month-end.”
With the help of this app, people will be able to intimate the government about any encroachments or irregularities on government-owned land.
“If there are any illegal constructions on government-owned land viz IDC, GSIDC or even comunidade land, people can upload a picture of the same along with basic details like location using the app,” he said.
Once this data is uploaded, a message will be sent to the officers concerned, who include the police, deputy collector, chief officers, among others, who will take necessary action in this regard.
“Once the officers receive this information, they will have to take necessary action within 15 days, failing which a penalty will be imposed on them. And the same will be deducted from their salary. There are 45 categories of designated officers who can take action,” said Agrawal.
However, in case of false complaints, the officers will have to disclose that no action has been initiated in such complaints.
