In the standard II ‘Gomant Bharati’ Marathi textbook that was printed, the last line of the National Anthem is missing. The printing ‘error’ was discovered when the students received the textbooks last week.
Speaking to The Goan, SCERT Director Nagraj Honnekeri informed that Ganesh Printers, Kolhapur, has been asked to reprint 8,000 copies of the Marathi textbooks which would be replaced with the textbooks already distributed to the students.
“In all, we had ordered for 13,000 Marathi textbooks. Nearly 8,000 have already been received distributed. Now we have asked the printer to reprint these erroneous textbooks entirely,” he said.
It was however learnt that the error made was on part of the printer and not SCERT, so the cost of reprinting will have to be entirely borne by
the printer.
