Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat and Goa Congress president Girish Chodankar called on Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar and his daughter, NCP MP from Maharashtra Supriya Sule, who are presently on a private visit to Goa.
Chodankar said that Pawar and Sule share cordial relations with many Congress leaders in Goa and that this was a courtesy visit. “I did not discuss any politics during the meeting,” he stated.
Kamat and Chodankar had separate meetings with the visiting NCP leaders at the starred hotel where they are staying.
The meeting caused a stir within political circles as it came on the backdrop of the statement made last week by senior NCP leader Praful Patel that the NCP is looking to align with a non-Congress, non-BJP and non-AAP political outfits in Goa for the upcoming Assembly polls.
