A Mapusa court on Friday granted conditional bail to Edwin Nunes, owner of Curlies restaurant who was arrested for forging his Covid-19 certificate in bid to evade arrest by Hyderabad police.
The court directed Nunes to furnish a personal bond of Rs 15,000 with one surety of the same amount. He has also been directed to be present in the police station for two days “ November 5 and 10 “ for two hours each.
Besides he has been asked not to interfere with any witnesses and to co-operate with the police in the case.
It may be recalled, Nunes was initially arrested after the Anjuna Police recovered a small amount of drugs from his beach shack three days after BJP leader Sonali Phogat died due to suspected overdose.
The court had granted him bail in that case with conditions to furnish a personal bond of Rs 30,000 and two sureties of Rs 15,000 each and to appear before the police as when called for investigation.
In the meantime, Hyderabad Police came looking for him in another drug case.
It was then that Nunes submitted a forged Covid-19 certificate to the Anjuna police which led to filing of the second FIR against Nunes.
