Fatorda Cong dares BJP, Goa Forward to showcase developments in Fatorda

MARGAO
The Fatorda Congress has challenged BJP leader Damu Naik and Goa Forward MLA Vijai Sardesai to showcase their developments for Fatorda over the past 20 years.

Whilst showcasing all the major infrastructure and development projects in Fatorda over the past years undertaken by the Congress government, GPCC in-charge for Fatorda, Dr Ashish Kamat have challenged BJP leader Damu Naik and Goa Forward MLA Vijai Sardesai to mention their contribution to Fatorda other than the hogwash and lipstick service provided to the Fatorda citizens.

He showcased the achievements of the Congress such as the Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Ravindra Bhavan, SGPDA market, South District Collectorate, South District Hospital, adding “even the last land acquisition for roads were undertaken during the Congress regime”.

The Fatorda Congress ridiculed both Damu Naik and Vijai Sardesai for misleading people all the time and claiming importance for developments which were actually initiated by the Congress government at that time. “Both Damu and Vijai were charged with trying to fool the electorate at all times. Even the satellite vegetable market initiated by Vijai is in shambles and so is the proclaimed Dubai style fish market,” he said.

Kamat added: “If not for the questionable intervention of Vijai Sardesai when part of GSUDA wherein a company Hyquip was introduced, Sonsodo would never have achieved such proportions. The said deal was also flagged by the Auditor General”.

The Fatorda Congress urged the citizens to just go around their wards and check how many open spaces have been developed for the citizens during the tenure of both MLAs wherein one was even a Minister.

“Massive trees were hacked, sewage discharge into fields left unattended, esthetic development took centrestage, crime increased, illegal constructions flourished and non-Goans with dubious credentials were supported by Vijai Sardesai in the past nine years leading to undermining the existence of Goemkarponn in Fatorda,” he claimed.
