The Pilgao Panchayat will witness fights mostly between new faces due to reservation of wards. Sarpanch Babaji Gaonkar is not in the fray as his Ward 3 has been reserved for women. However, he has fielded his wife Ujwala.
Former deputy sarpanch Vishnu Jalmi is also not contesting. The only one former panch member who is contesting the election is Swapnil Fadte from Ward 2.
In Shirgao, 19 candidates are in the fray. Former sarpanch Babuso Gaonkar and deputy sarpanch Sangeeta Gaonkar are not in the fray, while two former panchas who are not contesting the election are Ladkesh Palni and Prakash Gaonkar.
Only Panch Ankita Gaonkar is contesting from Ward 3, which is reserved for women.
Kalpita Ghadi, Pallavi Gaonkar and Sharada Gaonkar will contest in Ward 1, while former sarpanch Atchut Gaonkar will face Gurudas Pednekar, Rajendra Gaonkar and Sudhir Chari in Ward 2.
There will be triangular fight between Ankita Gaonkar, Prajakta Gaonkar and Vijaya Mandrekar in Ward 3. Bhagwant Gaonkar, Gauresh Gaonkar, Sanjay Ghatwal and Sanjay Gaonkar will contest from Ward 4, while Ajay Gaonkar, Devraj Gaonkar, Ganesh Gaonkar, Rajesh Gaonkar and Sadanand Gaonkar will contest from Ward 5.
