FiiRe fires up startups to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa

The Forum for Innovation Incubation Research & Entrepreneurship (FiiRe) has showcased its support to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa with its initiatives to support startups in establishing innovative businesses from an idea stage to commercialization.

A state of the art technology business incubator established with the support of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, within the campus of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, FiiRe has so far assisted 75 startups over a period of two years, out of which 45 were identified to be incubated. 

Out of the 45 startups, 30 are incubated in-house at FiiRe and 15 are incubated virtually, informed Tushar Sawant.

He said FiiRe has conducted various events to promote and support startups, namely Vhack Hackathon - Startups solving challenges centric to Goa Shipyard Limited; Intellectual Property Rights “ Know your Patentability Potential - Patent search to improve the chances of obtaining a patent registration; Idea Generation using Patent Information - Using patent search methodology to understand lapsed patents and start new businesses. 

Helping Entrepreneurs Achieve and Thrive (HEAT) - Connecting startups with relevant technical and functional mentors, for scaling up; FiiRe Starter Kit - Open Source kit for Startups to begin exploring their next big idea; Stademy Startup Competition - Flagship startup competition to help entrepreneurs set up joint ventures, with founders from other countries; Business Diva - Encouraging women entrepreneurs to implement and grow their business ideas are some of the initiatives of FiiRe to support the startups.

He said Rekise Marine Pvt Ltd (Maitrai Maka) - Autonomous, battery operated surveillance vehicle 5 of our startups have filed patents. “Developing Interior Villages Through Innovations (DIVTI) is the flagship program of FiiRe to promote entrepreneurship in rural areas, thus promoting the initiative of Aatmanirbhar Bharat - Swayampurna Goa,” he added.

PANAJIOne Covid-related death was recorded in the mortality bulletin of the state on Friday.
