​Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar in a written reply before the House on Wednesday confirmed that although the department has not issued final permission to the organizer of Electronic Dance Music festival ‘Timeout 72', the State Level Permission Committee (SLPC) has recommended granting permission to the organizer, Aayush Mehta, to organize the festival in the state from December 27 to December 29.

​Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar in a written reply before the House on Wednesday confirmed that although the department has not issued final permission to the organizer of Electronic Dance Music festival ‘Timeout 72', the State Level Permission Committee (SLPC) has recommended granting permission to the organizer, Aayush Mehta, to organize the festival in the state from December 27 to December 29.
Ajgaonkar informed that the permission will be issued for the EDM festival
during peak tourist season on compliance of all conditions issued in the provisional NOC.
He also said that no applications were received for hosting EDM festivals in South Goa this year.
Even while the government is in the process of clearing the path for the EDM festival after denying permissions to all organizers during the last year, it was disclosed that crores of rupees worth of dues from the organizers of two prominent EDM festivals previously organized in Goa are pending clearance.
In his reply to a question tabled by Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavalekar, the Tourism Minister said that an amount of Rs 1.75 crore worth of dues is outstanding between 2012 and 2016 from the organizers of "Sunburn" to the Goa Police Department and Rs 4.58 crore dues in commercial taxes between 2012 and 2015.
The organizers of "Supersonic", on the other hand, owe Rs 2.14 crore in commercial taxes to the state government for the year 2013-14.
The Minister assured the House that Goa has all the necessary infrastructure to host an Electronic Dance Music festival on a larger scale, especially in coastal areas.
