The Goa Chapter of the Fire and Security Association of India, an industry body of fire protection, safety and security services, will hold a high-level India Fire and Security Yatra in the State to showcase latest technologies, new products and services to help improve the situation in the State.
Addressing a press conference, Rajkumar Kamat said that a conference which will be held on September 19, will see industry experts interacting with members from the building industry as well as the directorate of fire and emergency services but also a huge stress on the security which will include inputs from the police and other stakeholders.
“The yatra will enable knowledge and expertise required to improve the physical security and fire safety through technology sessions, panel discussions and live exhibits,” Kamat said adding that the aims of FSAI is to promote and advance the use of fire safety and security systems that will foster a spirit of safe living among all citizens.
The conference will see the presence of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar who will inaugurate the session as well as Panaji MLA Siddharth Kuncalienkar and Director General of Police Muktesh Chander and is supported by the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services.
Besides this there will be sessions centres around two themes on security that will be addressed by police and tourism officials and one on fire which will include inputs from town planners, fire experts, architects, etc.
Besides this, the FSAI in collaboration with FM Global and the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services have initiated a two-day training programme on loss prevention and sprinkler technology which is slated for September 15 and 16.
The FSAI Goa chapter launched on May 26 this year has more than 70 corporate and professional members. The Chapter is one of 15 chapters across the country.
The FSAI has promised more sessions over the coming months to help erase gaps in awareness of fire and security safety not only among the industry groups but also the end users like housewives and school children.
