The District Magistrate, South has prohibited all the arms licence holders of South Goa District, carrying of all type of arms, fire arms, ammunition lethal weapons, in any public place, street, road squares, through fare, by lanes or in any open place in entire Ponda and Dharbandora Talukas of South Goa with immediate effect until further orders.

Further, all the arm licence holders of Ponda and Dharbandora Talukas in South Goa District are directed to deposit all their fire arms at the nearest Police Stations of their respective jurisdiction immediately and in no case after August 7, 2017. All the fire arms deposited will be returned to the licence holder after five days from counting
Believe it or not, upkeep and maintenance of South Goa district collectorate building will cost the exchequer a bomb.
