Firefighter injured in fall from tree
PERNEM: A 32-year-old fire fighter, attached to Pernem fire station, was seriously injured after he fell down while cutting a tree at Pernem on Sunday.
According to reports, Bapu Shetkar sustained injuries to his head, legs and spinal column.
Pernem fire station received a call at about 7.30 am informing that a branch of a banyan tree has fallen on a godown at Vaidonger-Parsem. Fire fighter Shetkar had climbed the tree to cut the branch, but he lost his balance and fell down. He was rushed to GMC Hospital in Bambolim.
