Goa recorded the first case of the dreaded Delta Plus variant of Covid after the report received from Genome Sequencing Lab at Pune confirmed the same.
However, the patient from South Goa whose sample was positive, has completely recovered, DHS officials said.
Three more persons, meanwhile succumbed to Covid in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 3,198 even as 59 of the 3,966 samples tested positive for Covid.
