Drishti lLife guards save six fishermen at Colva

Dristhi life savers saved a group of six fishermen who reportedly got swept into the sea at the Colva beach by the rip currents on Monday morning

A group of six fishermen aged between 19 and two 24 years were fishing on the coast and pulling in their nets. “Due to the rough waters some of the fishermen were finding it tough to stay steady and got swept into the sea by rip currents. The others went to help and also got pulled into the deep waters. Noticing the victims struggling in the waters, Drishti lifesavers Dashrath Sangodkar, Punu Velip and Siddesh Gaonkar rushed to the spot along with rescue equipment”, Drishti said in a statement.

The Drishti Lifesavers assisted the six fishermen and brought each of the victims back to safety. Their vitals were checked and found to be normal.

First Delta Plus case detected in Goa, patient recovers

PANAJI Goa recorded the first case of the dreaded Delta Plus variant of Covid after the report received from Genome Sequencing Lab at Pune confirmed the same. However, the patient from South Goa whose sample was positive, has completely recovered, DHS officials said.Three more persons, meanwhile succumbed to Covid in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 3,198 even as 59 of the 3,966 samples tested positive for Covid.
