Five in fray in Canacona
CANACONA: Five candidates are in the fray in Canacona constituency, after the wife of rebel BJP candidate Ramesh Tawadkar withdrew her nominations as independent candidate on Saturday.
According to the list of candidates finalised by the returning officer of Canacona Assembly Constituency, Kedar Naik, former sports minister and outgoing Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar is contesting as an independent (Almairah symbol), Gourish Bandekar (MGP), Isidore Aleixinho Fernandes (Congress), Vijay Pai Khot (BJP) and Sandesh Telekar (AAP)
Independent candidate Savita Tawadkar, wife of BJP’s rebel candidate Ramesh Tawadkar, is the only candidate to have withdrawn her nomination.
