Five injured in car mishap at Sakhali
BICHOLIM: Five college students were injured, one of them seriously, when a rented car they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a roadside canal at Kulan-Sakhali in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to Bicholim police, the three female and two male college students were on their way to Sakhali after watching a movie at about 12.30 am.
As the car reached a sharp turn near a canal at Kulan-Sakhali, Debudatt Trimurti (24), who hails from Orissa, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle and it hit the railings of the canal. The impact was such that the car veered off the road and fell into the canal.
Trimurti was seriously injured, while the other four sustained minor injuries. The injured girls notified the police, who in turn, admitted the injured to PHC at Bicholim. Trimurti was moved to GMC hospital, while the other four were discharged from PHC on Saturday morning.
Bicholim police is investigating the case.
