The Crime Branch sleuths arrested two alleged drug peddlers from a flea market in Anjuna, one of whom has closelinks with a inter-state drugtrafficker.
Hafsal Habeeb, a 43-yearold native of Kerala and operating from the flea marketwhere he also resides, wasapprehended with a 'blackcolour sticky substance' suspected to be Charas and 'drygreenish color flowering andfruiting tops' suspected to beGanja during a late night raidon Thursday. His associatePritesh Sangam, caught withsuspected Charas, has alsobeen arrested.
CB SP Nidhin Valsan informed that the seized contraband is valued at Rs 1.02 lakhapprox in the internationalmarket.
Habeeb is believed to havelinks with one Yeshwant Reddy, aged 25 years from AndhraPradesh, involved in drugtrafficking in the northerncoastal belt.
Reddy, temporarily residing in Siolim wasarrested by the CB team inOctober for allegedly possessing MDMA worth Rs 25,000approx.
"He is one of the big suppliers in north Goa. A team of CBhad visited his home State tonab his accomplices after obtaining leads through his integration and investigation,"sources said.
