Flower show begins in Belagavi
BELAGAVI: The three-day annual flower show, organised by the Horticulture department, was inaugurated at Hume Park on Club Road here on Monday.
The event has been shifted to a larger area and is now being held in nearly one-and-a-half acres. In addition to the exhibition of flowers, a fruit and vegetable show and floral arrangements on various themes are being held.
This year, a model on 'green house' has been included to popularise the scientific method of farming. Cultural programmes by school children and young artistes will also be held.
Apart from private nursery units and sellers of various farm inputs, organic manure and food products and home made food are also part of the show.
