The medico-legal officer attached to the South Goa district hospital mortuary has reserved opinion over the exact cause of death of Ambaulim footballer Dylon Carvalho.

While the post mortem examination was conducted on Wednesday, the doctor has reserved opinion over the cause of death pending histopathological examination.

Sources said the medico-legal officer will send the parts of the brain, heart and lungs to the Goa Medical College and hospital, Bambolim for histopathological examination. Source said the forensic team did not come across any internal injuries on the body of the deceased footballer that might have caused his death. “Given the situation, we will send parts of the brain, heart and lungs to the GMC laboratory for examination to shed light and give opinion on the death of the footballer”, sources added.

The 26-year old footballer playing for United Club of Ambaulim had collapsed on the field while playing a match at the Dando grounds, Benaulim. He was later declared brought dead.
