PERNEM
A number of foreign tourists visiting Goa who were due to return to their countries in March and April have found themselves stranded in the State with their visas expired.
There are now complaints that many of these foreign tourists are now flouting safety norms and do not wear masks even while visiting shops along Pernem’s coast.
"Some tourists in Arambol and other areas wander around without wearing masks. I request the State government to find a way and send them back to their countries," said Arambol Panch Pravin Waingankar.
Meanwhile, the tradition of providing hospitality to foreign tourists stranded in the State during the nationwide lockdown last year has repeated this year as well, with many owners of the rental rooms along Pernem’s coast providing them with Goan food for free.
