The petition filed by Sabina Fernandes, Shivaji Pralhad Gadge, Anton Xavier Mascarenhas, Atanasio Da Costa, Josilda Cabral, Ida Fernandes, Romandina Fernandes and Verena Cardozo has submitted to court that instead of filing separate FIRs, the EOC has clubbed all the 900 complaints and registered a single case against the accused.
Cruz Cardozo told the media here on Tuesday that the depositors have knocked the doors of court since they were not satisfied with the progress of the ongoing investigation by the EOC. “If the police cannot take the investigation to its logical conclusion, the case should be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation,” he stated.
He wondered how the EOC has worked out the figure of deposits (principal amount) at Rs 20 crore when the investigating agency has pegged the matured deposits at Rs 56 crore, a difference of around Rs 16 crore.  He said the depositors will also move the court with a plea to cancel the bail granted to the wife of the accused on May 10.
