Vasco police have registered an offence against an unknown person on charges of creating and circulating a fake electronic poster featuring a minister and a woman, falsely claiming that the two were legally married.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on September 19 at Vasco, where the accused allegedly created a forged electronic poster/document containing the complainant’s image and that of the minister, along with congratulatory messages claiming that they had been legally hitched.
The complainant alleged that the accused deliberately circulated the fabricated content as genuine through various social media handles with the intention of damaging her reputation and causing harm to her image.
Vasco police have registered an offence against the unknown accused under Sections 336(4), 340(2), 356(2) and 356(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Suresh Velip of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the guidance of Mormugao DySP SP Gurudas Kadam.
